Student Consultancy

Steel Centre OutReach Engineering (S.C.O.R.E.) is our student-run consultancy, available exclusively to Steel Centre member organizations. Member firms bring active engineering problems. SCORE assembles a student team, guided by Steel Centre researchers and led by a dedicated Project Lead, to deliver practical structural work.

Projects run from software validation and finite element analysis to connection design automation. Every engagement gives members direct access to emerging talent, and gives students real professional practice.

How It Works

01 Submit an RFP A Steel Centre member organization submits a request for proposal directly to SCORE@steelcentre.ca.
02 Proposal Review S.C.O.R.E. reviews the project scope, criteria, and metrics, then returns a tailored project proposal.
03 Execution The member organization collaborates closely with the assigned student Project Lead to complete the structural work.
04 Integration When possible, the student project team spends time working directly alongside the client in their corporate offices for enhanced teamwork and immersion.
05 Quality Delivery The Project Lead ensures timely, high-quality deliverables among all student participants while maintaining clear, effective communication with the client.
